Employee performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work with the building fabric of the hospital-built systems.
Key Responsibilities and DeliverablesRepairs doors, windows, floors.
Installs/repairs/moves furniture as required.
Carries out gardening and performing landscape duties such as mowing, weeding, strimming, salting and maintenance of paths, parking areas, and all access routes.
Inspecting the building, including heating, drainage, cooling, lighting and alarm systems to make sure they are in good working order.
Performing repairs and maintenance tasks as required including painting and touch ups.
Opening building at the start of the day and locking all doors and windows when not in operation.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Assists other trades when required.
Inspects sewage and plumbing systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Including blockages.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Ability to read/follow drawings and plans.
Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair general items.
Construct and fabricate parts, using hand tools and specifications.
Aid during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators, and driving needed vehiclesAssist in Fire Drills hospital wide.
Partake in Code Grey.
Waste management.
Comply with all Health & Safety requirements.
Availability to cover night/day shifts on occasion.
Carries out PAT testing of electrical equipment.
Resetting of electrical fuses.
Ability to review CCTV.Excellent communicational skills required as operative will be representing the facilities department.
