This is a newly created role and will be perfect for an inquisitive and forward thinking Quality engineer. This role will be second in command to the QESH manager in a busy SME manufacturing facility. In this role you will assists in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of company system requirements covering Quality, H&S, Environmental and Sustainability. You will have the opportunity to actively participate in CI activities as well as business projects. This is a dynamic role with a real prospect to make noticeable change to your area of the business. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Ensure that procedures and work instructions are documented to company, ISO and other applicable standards. Ensure that all departments conform to management systems requirements in terms of compliance with; quality, health and safety, environmental and sustainability. Learn and implement best practice techniques and assist in the development and implementation of lean principles. Using structured problem-solving techniques, coordinate the review and resolution of customer, company and supplier non-conformances, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement & monitor corrective and preventative action (CAPA) plans. Drive system improvements by working with Operations and Process Engineering to implement effective quality planning tools, measurement systems, sampling plans, statistical techniques, or other process controls. Participate in customer interactions for the purposes of regular business update meetings, reporting, issue resolution, and cooperative continuous improvement opportunities that improve our products and increase customer satisfaction. Develop supplier continuous improvement plans and supplier performance scorecards. Develop, review, and perform quality inspection for new product development, supplier changes, and/or improvements for legacy production parts. Lead projects with continuous improvement and/or corrective action teams. Assist in the performance of management system internal and supplier auditing. Assist in the development and delivery of quality alerts and training programs. KEY REQUIREMENTS: Graduate in an engineering, scientific or quality discipline. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering or working with Quality Systems. Strong quality technical background with familiarity in Quality Management Systems such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, FSSC22000. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and CAPA tools. Ability to work individually and to support / lead a project team. Auditing certification preferred.
