**Job Title:** Occupational Therapist (Later Life Psychiatry in Patient)

**Contract Type:** 1 year specified purpose contract, Full Time, 35 hours per week.
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist with CORU registration and proven expertise to work with older adults in psychiatric care. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting older people and have a positive approach to healthy ageing and empowerment.
Primary Duties
1. Be responsible for the maintenance of standards of practice of self and staff appointed to clinical / designated area(s).
2. Manage own caseload and assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment programmes for service users according to service standard.
3. In conjunction with the Occupational Therapist Manager lead service planning by anticipating the changing needs of the service and service users.
4. Foster and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, front line managers, and other healthcare personnel in the team.
5. Ensure the quality of documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports and discharge summaries are in accordance with local service and professional standards.
6. Communicate verbally and / or in writing results of assessments, treatment / intervention programmes and recommendations to the team and relevant others in accordance with service policy.
7. Participate in teams as appropriate, communicating and working in co-operation with other team members.
Requirements
* BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
* Hold full CORU registration.
* Previous clinical experience working in mental health with older adults ideally.
* Passion for healthy ageing and empowerment.
* Commitment to ongoing learning and development of your skills.
* High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
