Job Description
AtkinsRéalis is one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services, with offices across Ireland. We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager (with a structural engineering background) with years of experience to join our Galway office. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment on diverse public and private projects.
In this role, you will:
1. Lead projects as a client-facing Project Manager, ensuring successful delivery.
2. Oversee structural engineering design and collaborate with various disciplines.
3. Contribute to innovative and high-quality engineering solutions.
4. Be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, willing to take responsibility and comfortable working as part of a team.
Duties will include:
Project Management / Leadership:
1. Lead and manage engineering projects from concept to completion.
2. Act as the primary client liaison, ensuring clear communication and project alignment.
3. Financial management of project delivery.
4. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and graduates.
6. Review and approve engineering drawings, reports, and specifications.
7. Preparation of project reports (Planning, Tender, Construction Stage).
Structural Engineering Design:
1. Prepare structural designs for a variety of building projects (public and private).
2. Perform structural analysis and calculations for structures.
3. Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
4. Oversight of preparation of design drawings.
Business Development & Client Engagement:
1. Support business growth by building and maintaining strong client relationships.
2. Assist in preparing proposals, bids, and tender documentation.
3. Identify new opportunities and contribute to strategic planning.
Desirable skills/attributes:
1. Chartered Engineer.
2. Experience managing projects from commencement to handover.
3. Good communication skills and can prioritise and manage workload effectively.
4. Proficient in MS Office Suite.
5. Experience in use of structural design software.
