TEMPORARY PART-TIME SUPPORT WORKER
ROSEDALE SCHOOL – CHILDREN’S SERVICES GALWAY

A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Support Worker Staff appointments for the Services may be made over the next 6 months.
Location: Rosedale School, Woodlands Centre, Renmore, Galway and its preschool classes at Fairlands & Burrenview Child Development Centres. Rosedale School is managed in partnership by the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland and the Department of Education and Skills. The children attending Rosedale School are aged between 3 and 18 years of age. Staff work collaboratively to support children who present with a range of complex support needs including some children with significant medical support needs.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
* Candidates must have a good general education. A recognised qualification appropriate to the field of intellectual disability is an advantage. A QQI Level 5 or higher is desirable.
* Candidates must have a minimum of six months experience working in a school, healthcare or childcare setting. Experience working with people with an Intellectual Disability and behaviours that challenge is desirable.
* A full clean manual Irish Driving Licence (Class B) is desirable for this post.
* Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
* Candidates must be able to demonstrate flexibility, communication and team-working skills, together with an enthusiasm for the post. Some basic IT skills are also essential.
Working Hours: 60 hours per fortnight based on a 5-day roster. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Remuneration: Department of Health Care Assistant salary scale (01/10/2024) - €32,699 x 11 increments - €45,190 (Max) pro rata per annum. Long Service Increment €45,984 pro rata per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays, sleep-ins and night duty when worked.
This post is Temporary, part-time, fixed term for 2 years and pensionable.
