Club Vitae Health and Fitness Club is a leading fitness and swimming facility. Club Vitae Sligo entails the gym with Precor equipment and a range of challenging and enjoyable fitness classes. Additionally, the Sligo leisure centre features a 20-metre swimming pool, sauna, and a steam room as well as our home of wellness, the Essence Spa.
Objective of the Role
Reporting to the Leisure Centre Manager, the Lifeguard/Attendant will be responsible for overseeing the member and guest experiences of our fitness and leisure offering.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure that the fitness and leisure facilities are safe at all times.
2. Sell/Upsell membership.
3. Deal with customer complaints, referring them to senior management if necessary.
4. Be flexible and adaptable to areas which need assistance.
5. Oversee and ensure the general safety of the members and residents to prevent injury, misuse, and damage to the facility.
6. Report to the manager any mishaps which require medical attention or serious breaches of pool discipline which might result in complaints.
7. Take responsibility for your own health & safety and that of those around you.
8. Open and close the facilities.
9. Handle bookings, cash, and keep the reception area neat and tidy.
10. Ensure the cleanliness of the facility, including the general areas, changing rooms and showers, steam room and sauna, pool surrounds, gym, and aerobics studio.
11. Comply with all written procedures.
12. Conduct fitness assessments and develop training programmes for members and guests.
13. Be familiar with the Standard Operating Procedures of the Leisure Centre.
14. Provide help and guidance to members and guests.
Requirements:
1. Pool/Lifeguard certification is essential.
2. Must be available midweek and from 6am to 10pm.
3. Gardai vetted would be an advantage.
4. Good communication skills and fluency in English.
5. Friendly and outgoing.
6. Ability to work as part of a team.
7. Pool Plant qualification would be an advantage.
