Staff Grade (Grade II) Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a well-structured psychology team in Cloverhill prison, catering for adult males with a broad range of mental health and criminogenic needs.
Job Description
The role involves working alongside other multi-disciplinary team members to provide psychological support to clients. You will have regular contact with community agencies involved in the support and resettlement of people leaving custody.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide time-limited community intervention(s) to support a client's transition from custody to community.
* Work with families and carers of those in custody.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following essential qualifications and competencies:
* Be eligible for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* Hold a postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology recognised by PSI or Counselling Psychology recognised by PSI.
Desirable Requirements
The following are desirable but not essential requirements:
* Experience in addressing emotional, mental health, and/or offence-related difficulties with a forensic or inpatient population.
* Experience of providing consultation, education, guidance, and support to multidisciplinary colleagues.
