Your new role
You will report into the Finance Director and will be responsible for managing a team of 8 people, with ownership of finance operations and month end. Your duties will include:
1. To manage and lead a team of 8 people, ensuring effective teamwork and identifying any necessary training and development requirements for the team
2. Prepare monthly management accounts to tight month end deadlines
3. Ensure all monthly settlements and reconciliations are completed with the maximum accuracy
4. Making adjustments to local accounts for US GAAP compliance
5. Overall responsibility for statutory and tax reporting requirements
6. Final approval for all payment runs
7. Ongoing improvement of internal controls
8. Co-ordination of all daily/weekly/monthly finance functions including settlements, AR, AP, payroll and sales reporting
9. Financial analysis as required - variance/sales/product stream/ channel/costing analysis
10. Commercial awareness in terms of contract renewals and contract changes
11. Main point of contact with internal and external auditors
12. Assist in ongoing testing, process improvement and implementations of system changes/updates
What you'll need to succeed
13. You will need to be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA), our client is not considering qualified by experience or part-qualified candidates for this role
14. Ideal background is practice trained with experience in a retail/e-commerce industry that is highly transactional and requires excellent reconciliation & settlements experience
15. Strong systems experience, in particular with Oracle or SAP
16. Candidates stepping up into their first Finance Manager role are welcome to apply, but experience managing or overseeing 2-3 people is desired for this role
