New Directions Lead
Permanent 35 hours Per week
St. Christopher's Services are seeking an efficient and innovative person to lead and build effective teams to support the implementation of the New Directions Standards within the service. The post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post, which may be assigned to him/her from time to time, and to contribute to the development of the post while in office. This job description will be subject to review in the light of changing circumstances. It is not intended to be exhaustive but should be regarded as providing guidelines within which individuals work.
SALARY SCALE: Clerical Grade V Salary Scale
Depending on experience and qualifications. NB: Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
Qualifications
A minimum ordinary Degree (QQI Level 7) in Nursing/Applied Social Studies/Social Care/other qualifications may also be considered. Suitable candidates will be educated to degree level. Ideally candidates will be experienced in auditing, compliance and will have an in-depth knowledge of the New Directions Interim Standards.
Experience
Candidates must have experience and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in the following:
1. Up to date knowledge of best practice in the field of health and social care.
2. Involvement with inspection and registration process.
3. Preferably have experience working with adults with an Intellectual Disability and experience working in the Social Care/Nursing Sector.
4. Report writing skills.
5. Experience in Continuous Quality Management, Quality Systems.
6. Experience leading an internal audit function.
7. Knowledge and understanding of New Directions Interim Standards and how they apply in practice & any other relevant legislative requirements.
8. Knowledge and understanding of National Policy in terms of Child Protection and Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons.
9. Good team management skills.
10. Good influencing skills.
11. Possess excellent communication, I.T and presentation skills.
12. Be a self-motivated individual, demonstrating initiative and drive and an ability to work independently.
13. Have the ability to prioritise, plan and organise own workload.
14. Be an effective team player, with an open and flexible attitude.
Other
Full clean driver's license and access to own transport as the post will require some travelling.
