Carer Pathways Project Manager Family Carers Ireland (FCI) is the national charity supporting family carers across the country who dedicate their lives to caring for loved ones such as children or adults with physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people, those with palliative care needs or those living with chronic illnesses or addiction.
We provide a range of supports and services for family carers nationally from our local support centres.
Using a strengths-based approach, the Carer Pathways Project Manager is responsible for supporting approximately 170 family carers who are preparing for, or who are engaged in, employment activation and/or education.
The Project Manager will provide a holistic assessment of their needs, with a view to developing a person-centred action plan and signposting to interventions to support a sustainable care, work and/or education routine.
A key team player, the Project Manager is the first point of contact for family carers referred to the Carer Pathways Project, including those in distress, and will respond to family carers in an understanding, calm and professional manner.
Utilising a 'resolution at first point of contact philosophy' and knowledge of service providers, the planner will connect the family carer to partners, external agencies, in-house and on-line supports, including education programmes, respite and/or counselling.
The Carer Pathways Project Manager will require the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes: An honours degree (QQI 8 or higher) in the area of Social Work/Community Development/Social Care/Psychology/Supported Employment, or at least 2 years previous experience providing support to family carers and/or those engaged in employment activation in a community-based setting.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work within a dynamic environment.
Excellent IT Skills - mainly MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and experience and confidence using videoconferencing platforms.
Proven networking skills.
Flexibility in attitude and approach to the job.
Reflective approach to their work.
A strong work ethic.
Willingness to do some evening work when required.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
Excellent oral, empathic communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with a diverse range of people.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, make clear and quick decisions and work with clients in distress.
Effective time management.
Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
Full, clean drivers licence with access to own vehicle.
Terms & Conditions:
Specified Purpose Contract up to December 31st 2026, full-time role (37 hours per week across Monday - Friday.)
The successful candidate will work Hybrid/Remote.
The salary for the role is €42,996.
The annual leave entitlement is 26 days per year.
