Kilkenny SPCA is seeking to appoint a Fundraising Director to join its Board of Trustees. This volunteer role is critical in driving the charity’s fundraising efforts, securing financial sustainability, and expanding its capacity to protect animals from cruelty.
Currently, Kilkenny SPCA is operated entirely by volunteers, with no salaried staff. The Board consists of a small team with expertise in fundraising, volunteer management, and customer service. The Fundraising Director will work closely with fellow Trustees to develop and implement sustainable fundraising strategies that support the charity’s long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a robust fundraising plan, identifying new opportunities to generate income, including grants, corporate partnerships, individual giving, and community fundraising.
2. Donor Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding organizations to ensure long-term financial support.
3. Event & Campaign Management: Lead fundraising events and initiatives, working with volunteers to maximize engagement and revenue.
4. Board Collaboration: Work with the Board of Trustees to align fundraising goals with the charity’s overall strategy, ensuring financial sustainability.
5. Governance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and provide regular reports to the Board on fundraising performance.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Proven experience in fundraising, business development, or financial management.
2. A strong network in the nonprofit, corporate, or philanthropic sectors.
3. Excellent communication skills to engage donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
4. Strategic thinking with the ability to develop sustainable income streams.

Time Commitment:
Trustee meetings are held monthly, and the role requires attendance at key fundraising events, training sessions, and strategy workshops.
