Position Overview: We are excited to announce an opening for a Financial Accountant within our dynamic Finance team! This is a crucial role in ensuring seamless operations within the Softworks Group.
This individual must be highly motivated and detail-oriented qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA), with at least two years of post-qualification experience (PQE). Responsibilities will include providing accurate financial reporting, management accounting, and analysis within the Softworks Group.

This role is designed to develop the successful candidate's skills, providing a stepping stone to a Finance Manager position.

Role Responsibilities:
Management Accounting:
1. Develop and prepare management accounts, providing insightful variance analysis and commentary.
2. Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and all financial records.
3. Ensure intercompany transactions are reconciled accurately and foreign exchange is managed correctly during consolidation.
4. Prepare and submit VAT & HRMC and other relevant tax returns accurately and on time (VAT, RTD, VIES, PAYE).
5. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
6. Provide financial support and analysis to the CFO.
Payroll Processing & Management:
1. Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for the Irish and UK entity, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Irish and UK payroll legislation.
2. Liaise with payroll providers or internal teams for payroll processing in international locations (US, Canada, Australia), ensuring timely and accurate payments and compliance with local regulations.
3. Prepare and submit payroll-related reports and returns to relevant authorities.
4. Foster collaboration within the Softworks Group and liaise effectively with other departments and external stakeholders, such as banks and tax authorities.
5. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices.
6. Keep up with the latest changes in payroll legislation in Ireland and the specified international markets.
7. Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and research as required.
Requirements:
1. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with a minimum of two years PQE.
2. Strong technical accounting knowledge and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and standards.
3. Proven experience in preparing financial statements, management accounts, and financial analysis.
4. Familiarity with Irish tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax).
5. Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and accounting software packages. Experience with AccountsIQ is an advantage.
6. Demonstrate agility in a fast-changing technological environment, being open and adaptable to unsuspecting change.

8. Communicate regularly and efficiently with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
9. Maintain strong co-operative relationships within the team and other departments to ensure that the organisation continues to function successfully.
10. Ability to analyse complex financial data, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
11. High level of accuracy and a commitment to producing high quality work.
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to both finance and non-finance professionals.
13. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
14. Understanding of business operations and how finance supports strategic objectives.
15. Strong ethical standards and a professional approach to work.

Location:
The role will be based in Softworks HQ in Bray, Co. Wicklow. We currently have hybrid working in place, combining office-based working with working from home.
