Management Accountant - Permanent
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is based in Naas and offers a hybrid work arrangement of 1-2 days working from home.
Purpose of Job:
The primary objective of this position is to produce accurate management accounts and prepare a monthly Flash forecast & Management accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
* Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, adhering to predetermined timescales set by the group.
* Ensure balance sheet nominal codes are reconciled monthly.
* Maintain the fixed asset register.
* Prepare interim and year-end audit packs, including accounting policies and statutory accounts, while liaising with external auditors and taxation consultants.
* Provide ad hoc accounts support as needed.
* Ensure intercompany balances are up-to-date and agreed upon.
* Undertake other duties and special projects as required by the Managing Director.
Procedures:
Ensure compliance with group authorisation policies and stay informed about all IT systems, procedures, and changes.
Risk Management:
Implement systems to validate the existence of hire fleet, fixed assets, and inventory, including adequate inspection procedures for long-term hires and the introduction of audit procedures.
Ideal Candidate:
* AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified (part-qualified considered).
* Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
* Comfortable working with financial and management accounts.
* Excellent Excel skills a strong advantage.
* Knowledge of data storage, querying, and manipulation (Extract, Transform, Load).
* Self-motivated individual with a desire to develop the finance function and wider business.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial team members.
* Willingness to challenge the status quo and bring fresh ideas to the finance function and business.
* Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
* Rapidly build cross-functional relationships, establishing trust and credibility across the business.
* Engage with business leaders for clear and transparent communication and financial understanding across the senior leadership team.
