Role/ Department:
Excellent opportunity to develop in an exciting Cyber Security role on a growing team, while enhancing Northern Trust's Cyber Security posture.
As part of Northern Trust's Cyber Coordination Centre, the Security Analyst will be primarily responsible for monitoring and response on our SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solution.
You will be performing initial triage of potential security incidents as to whether or not activity observed is a valid threat.
This includes security monitoring, security incident identification, incident prioritization, incident escalation and directed response support functions.
The Senior Security Analyst will also play a crucial role in executing Northern Trust's security monitoring model, contributing to a resilient and unified team that improves NT's ability to protect and defend its networks and information.
The key responsibilities of the role include: Providing first response support by analysing alerts and gathering information about potential incidents or vulnerabilities.
Conducting incident analysis and respond using security runbooks and playbooks but also utilising your own initiative and skills.
Review and tune alerts and/or propose automation tasks to increase efficiency.
Mentoring and coaching within the team on new procedures/playbooks developed.
Escalate incidents as needed, for further immediate action.
Skills/Qualifications: The successful candidate will benefit from having: A strong interest in Cyber Security with excellent analytical, technical and communication skills.
Not necessary in the workplace but through college study and/or own initiatives.
Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently and as a team member.
Creative and imaginative problem solver.
Cyber Security background and qualifications ideal.
Possible background in IT admin/support roles.
Demonstrative aptitude and interest in Cyber Security as a possible change of career.
Prior roles showing enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
