Opportunity for a Fire Safety Engineer
This role is based on site and in the client's office, with direct reporting to the Senior Asset Planning Engineer in the Asset Planning Maintenance Planning Team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the Senior Asset Planning Engineer to prioritize and identify sites for fire safety systems.
* Conduct fire risk assessment surveys on existing process site buildings, identifying deficiencies in fire safety systems and Building Regulations compliance.
* Review fire risk assessments carried out by others and devise a fire safety strategy to bring buildings up to Building Regulations compliance standard.
* Scope remediation works to bring buildings up to Building Regulations compliance standard and statutory legislation standards.
* Be competent in the BCAR process, fire prevention, detection, suppression, and training.
* Audit completed fire safety systems remedial works on site.
* Manage stakeholders and perform other duties related to work and asset management as required.
Desired Qualifications:
* Relevant engineering or scientific qualifications to degree level or relevant Fire Safety Qualification.
* Minimum 7 years' experience in fire safety systems, planning, design, and statutory compliance.
* Experience in sign-off of fire safety systems to show statutory compliance with Building Regulations and Fire Certificates, BCAR, etc.
* Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and statutory compliance regarding fire safety systems and legislation.
* Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
