Current Need:
The SK biotek Ireland team here at the Swords Campus are looking for an Environmental & SHE Systems Co-ordinator for a 12-month contract reporting to the Environmental and SHE Systems Manager. The successful candidate will provide environmental support for operations at the Swords manufacturing facility, ensuring that the Environmental Management function is maintained on an ongoing basis in conformance with the Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001, Industrial Emissions Licence, maintenance, and Corporate and Customer Requirements. They will also act as the SHE SME for Sustainability matters.
Position Description:
The successful applicant will be located at the Swords site, and will have the following duties:
1. Monitor the Swords environmental program to ensure compliance with all applicable licenses, government regulations, customer and company standards and values.
2. Compile and submit any regulatory reporting requirements within the required timeframes.
3. Act as the site’s Environmental contact for new product introductions, change controls, and project activities.
4. Conduct site audits and report results; act as the lead on-site environmental contact for all onsite Environmental Audits (both internal & external).
5. Lead and/or support the investigation of any Environmental incidents/non-compliance events on site.
6. Act as the site SHE coordinator for any Sustainability projects.
7. Compile and report on-site Environmental metrics.
8. Manage/coordinate all Environmental monitoring/sampling on site and the documentation of all associated results.
9. Act as the main SHE point of contact for waste management issues and liaise with the site Waste Broker.
10. Develop, maintain on-site environmental documentation, and deliver training programs to ensure environmental compliance where applicable.
11. Build relationships with key departments to foster support for Environmental programs.
12. Identify potential areas for environmental improvement projects and initiatives.
13. Assist in the management of ISO45001 Safety Management System and provide support and backup to the wider SHE team.
We are looking for candidates from the following backgrounds:
1. Scientific or Engineering qualifications are desirable, along with an environmental health & safety qualification.
2. Previous job experience dealing with Compliance and Environmental Health & Safety.
3. Compliance background in medical device, manufacturing, chemicals, or pharma is advantageous.
4. Experience of working under the following accreditations is a plus: ISO17025, ISO50001, ISO45001, ISO14001.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A minimum of 3 years professional experience in environment, health, and safety programs.
2. Knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations/environment compliance reporting.
3. Specific experience in hazardous waste management or other professional EHS trainings or certifications is a plus.
We would prefer for you to have:
1. 2 years relevant experience in an EPA regulated facility.
2. Excellent communication skills in writing, presentations, and interpersonal communication.
3. Developed teamwork skills with the ability to manage several projects and prioritize tasks.
4. Commitment to continuous learning.
5. Good knowledge of Environmental Legislation, Industry Guidance, and Codes of Practice.
6. Good attention to detail.
7. Practical: Client and solution focused.
