Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
PE Global is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical and instrumentation systems within a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems commonly found in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Perform preventive maintenance tasks on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
* Calibrate and maintain instrumentation devices such as temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, flow meters, and analytical instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineers to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
* Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Document maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other designated tools.
* Participate in training programs to develop and maintain technical skills and knowledge of new technologies relevant to electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
* Responds to corrective breakdown work and troubleshoots root cause analysis with Manufacturing.
* Schedule, complete, and assign Work Orders in a timely manner.
This role will provide exposure to a wide range of expertise relating to pharmaceutical, life sciences, construction, and other sectors. The successful candidate will be supported in developing their knowledge and skills as their responsibilities grow and evolve.
Requirements:
* Time served in an engineering technical degree or diploma, or Solas advanced craft certification to level 6, or equivalent.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably in a biopharmaceutical or similar regulated industry.
* Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical codes (NEC, IEC).
* Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits and control systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
* Experience with instrumentation calibration, configuration, and troubleshooting, including familiarity with industry standards such as ISO/IEC 17025.
* Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
* Computer Literacy.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
