* Relevant Level 8* NFQ primary degree at 2.1 honours level in the broad areas of accounting, finance, taxation, insurance or an adjacent field (or a current QCA Higher than 3.00 for final year student).

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting directly to the Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance, the Teaching Assistant (TA) is appointed to carry out a range of teaching and support functions for the Accounting and Finance faculty. The primary tasks associated with the role are to organise, update and deliver a number of tutorials weekly to student groups principally at undergraduate levels, and to maintain accurate records and schedules related to teaching activities. TAs will be required to assist with grading, handle student queries and provide guidance to students. Some e-moderation responsibilities may form part of the role, and occasional administrative and research support to faculty may be required from time to time.
Successful applicants will be required to carry out teaching, administrative and assessment duties connected with the post, and any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Department.
Essential Criteria

* Well-developed communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

Desirable Criteria:
* Completion or partial completion of a post-graduate degree in a cognate area.
* Previous teaching or tutoring experience.
* Previous grading experience.
This appointment will be filled on a contract basis for 10 months, with the possibility of being renewed for a second 10-month period.
