We are seeking a talented and motivated mathematician with a strong foundation in computer science. This role goes beyond routine programming tasks and involves creative problem-solving and the rapid development of prototypes to meet varied and flexible requirements. Essentials
* Degree in mathematics, computer science or software engineering. We are also open to folks in other scientific and numerate disciplines, such as physics.
* Demonstrable proficiency in at least two programming languages. Proficiency with SQL - basic level will do initially, but you do need to know how to use databases.
* Linux knowledge, day-to-day use, developer-level.
* Familiar with SQL and database concepts in general.
* Cloud Computing, preferably AWS, basic-level.
* A primarily analytical mindset with a focus on creative but ultimately realistic problem-solving.
* A natural curiosity and interest in the subject domain, i.e. computer science, mathematics, energy industry.
* Minimum 3 years of work experience in industry post qualification (excluding internships).
Nice To Have
* Knowledge of time series databases, Grafana, and MQTT.
* Knowledge of C/C++, Python, Wolfram Mathematica, Rust, GoLang, R, MATLAB (JavaScript is even ok if you know how to apply it to interesting problems).
* Automation protocols and experience with sensors and data collection systems.
* IoT Sensors and Data collection systems.
* Self-reliant and able to work independently from time to time.
* Not afraid to seek help or guidance when required.
* An effective communicator, especially with technical subjects.
