We are seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to be the Technical Lead in our growing team. You will take technical ownership of a newly formed global Platform Engineering team, designing, building and maintaining cloud infrastructure ensuring scalability, security, and high availability of platforms.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior, mid-level and senior engineers.Architecture & Design: Design scalable and resilient platform architectures aligned with business needs.Performance Optimization: Improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency through proactive optimization.Tooling & Process Improvement: Evaluate and introduce new DevOps tools, methodologies, and best practices.Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, security, and supervise teams to align platform goals with business objectives.Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible or Pulumi.CI/CD Pipelines: Build and manage deployment pipelines using ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins.Cloud Management: Deploy and maintain cloud services on AWS / GCP / Azure with a focus on security, scalability, and cost optimization.Containerization & Orchestration: Develop and manage OpenShift stacks, Kubernetes clusters, Docker containers, and Helm charts.Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using Prometheus, Grafana and ElasticSearch.Automation & Scripting: Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operational tasks using Bash, Python, Go & Groovy.Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, including IAM policies, network security, and compliance automation.Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Respond to and mitigate production incidents, conducting post-mortems and improving system reliability.QualificationsThird level qualification in Computer Science/IT/Software Engineering.People management skills - introducing and building ways in which people can learn from each other, encouraging mentoring and the transfer of knowledge by designing and delivering learning interventions.Teamwork and emotional intelligence.Good self-management – continuous performance is both an objective and a mindset.Has an innovative approach – a bold thinker and doer, matching creativity with vigilance.High value on openness and transparency.Experience8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering, with 3+ years technical leadership of teams.Must have enterprise experience using OpenShift.Deep expertise in cloud architecture & automation (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Strong experience creating highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure designs.Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes internals, operators, service meshes, and multi-cluster management.Strong knowledge of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.Experience in designing and implementing observability and incident response frameworks.Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers while advocating best practices.Experience in cost optimization and FinOps strategies for cloud infrastructure.At Expleo, we are committed to providing a competitive salary and substantial benefits offering with unique wellbeing, financial and employee recognition programmes.
