Job Title: CNC Punch Technician
This is a permanent role with long term potential to develop and grow along with a young, rapidly expanding, ambitious company.
Key Responsibilities:
* Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate Trumpf punch machines according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment, tooling, and machine settings for efficient production.
* Material Handling: Load raw material (typically sheet metal) into the punch press and ensure correct feeding of materials during the operation.
* Quality Control: Inspect punched parts for accuracy, dimensions, and surface quality using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
* Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshoot issues with the Trumpf punch machines to minimise downtime.
* Production Efficiency: Monitor the production process to ensure it stays on schedule, adjusting machine settings and tooling as needed for optimal efficiency.
* Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and wear appropriate protective gear while operating machinery.
* Documentation: Complete production logs, quality checklists, and machine maintenance records as required.
* Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and engineers to meet production goals and address any issues that arise during production.
* Tooling Management: Change and maintain punch tools, dies, and other components to ensure smooth operation and consistent product quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Proven experience operating Trumpf punch presses or similar CNC punch machines in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machine setup, and operation.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
* Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) for quality checks.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to solve mechanical issues on the fly.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
* Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment is a plus.
