This role involves the clinical and professional management of nutritional care and dietetic requirements for patients diagnosed with renal failure, in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Managers at our clinic in Wexford.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the nutritional care of patients with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) requires complex dietary manipulation to achieve optimal medical and nutritional outcomes, while avoiding nutrition-related complications and disease progression.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Delivering a quality service that is patient-centered and customer-focused at all times.
* Planning and organising service delivery to meet the needs of patients and the service.
* Communicating effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
* Developing evidence-based policies and protocols for optimal nutritional and dietetic management of patients.
* Providing ongoing support and education to patients and their families on nutrition and dietetics.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
* A B.Sc. in Human Nutrition and Dietetics recognised by the Department of Health.
* A Diploma in Dietetics and Nutrition from Dublin Institute of Technology/BDA Renal Course or equivalent.
* Or equivalent qualifications that include both (a) and (b).
* Candidates with qualifications from outside the Republic of Ireland must provide evidence that their qualifications have been validated by the Dept of Health.
* Registration or eligibility for registration with CORU as a Dietitian.
* Proficiency in the English language.
* 1-2 years post-graduate relevant work experience in dietetics.
* Familiarity with renal dietetics and renal replacement therapies would be an advantage.
