Planet Pharma are currently seeking an experienced design and development engineer background to join our team. This is a full-time role where you would be based on the clients site in Galway full time.

As a key member of our team, you will lead a group of engineers in all aspects of new product development, including process design, characterization, technology advancement, automation, vendor management, supplier management, and project management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, execute, and meet both pre-market and post-market requirements.
In this role, you will oversee process development, characterization, and validation activities to support new product introductions. Your strong statistical skills will be essential in guiding team members to apply design of experiments (DOE), engineering studies, transfer functions, and process optimization techniques, all while identifying and addressing root causes and defining robust process windows.
You will lead efforts to innovate and create best-in-class process technologies with a focus on improving quality, reducing variability, and advancing automated and semi-automated systems. Your leadership will also be key in identifying and mitigating technology and process risks throughout the design process.
Additionally, you will collaborate on design, reliability, and manufacturability (DRM) methodologies, utilizing 3D modeling, printing, and augmented reality to develop optimal solutions for manufacturing devices that positively impact healthcare worldwide. You will be responsible for identifying and executing practical solutions to technical challenges, drawing on your expertise in project management, six sigma tools, and process characterization.
Your work will involve close collaboration with project and functional teams to document, communicate, and share learnings effectively.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree (Level 8 or higher) in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
* Experience in the design and development of electro-mechanical devices.
* Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a talented, cross-functional team.
* In-depth understanding of product and process design.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
* Well-developed organizational, presentation, and project management skills.
