Ad Astra Fellow - Lecturer/Assistant Professor in AI and Digital Cultural Heritage
The UCD School of Information and Communications is seeking a highly skilled individual to lead research and scholarship in the area of AI and Digital Cultural Heritage.
About the Role
This Ad Astra Fellow will provide research leadership within the school and across the wider university, in this important field. The role involves:
* Conducting research in AI and Digital Cultural Heritage that supports high-quality teaching in their field
* Leading innovations in both research and teaching
* Expanding and deepening partnerships with sectoral stakeholders nationally and internationally
* Solving real-world problems through interdisciplinary research and collaboration
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in the areas of Information and Communication Studies
* Developing new undergraduate modules for the BSc in Social Science (ICS) and BA in Creative and Cultural Institutions
* Designing a new AI-focused interdisciplinary module for the MSc in Human-Computer Interaction, MSc in Communication and Media programme, and MLIS
* Contributing to the development of new micro credentials in AI and digital GLAM studies
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* A strong background in AI and Digital Cultural Heritage research
* Excellent teaching and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to secure national and international research funding
