Job Description
The Technical Officer will play a key role in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of undergraduate teaching programmes, experimental project work (capstone, MAI/MSc level) and research activities within the Discipline of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Biomedical Engineering (MMBE).
They will provide vital technical support in the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment ensuring continuity of teaching and research activities throughout the Discipline.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide hands-on training and demonstrate standard operating procedures to all students and teaching assistants in the use of a variety of experimental equipment based in the E3 Learning Foundry.
Requirements
* Relevant Honours degree for new staff members.
* MSc holder with a minimum of 3 years experience may be appointed at Senior Technical Officer level for existing staff members.
Desirable Skills
* Laboratory teaching environment IT skills MS Office exp assembling high precision mechanical component DAQ and Lab VIEW software.
