Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Team Management: Lead, supervise, and support a team of social care professionals, ensuring high standards of care and support for separated children.
* Service Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the residential service, ensuring the delivery of a safe, welcoming, and culturally sensitive environment for children.
* Safeguarding & Protection: Ensure the safeguarding and protection of all children in care, maintaining compliance with local laws, policies, and child protection regulations.
* Individualized Care Planning: Oversee the development and implementation of tailored care plans for each child, considering their unique cultural, emotional, and psychological needs.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with external agencies, including social workers, legal representatives, healthcare providers, and government bodies, to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
* Support and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to staff in dealing with the complex needs of children, including trauma, emotional distress, and integration challenges.
* Staff Training and Development: Ensure that all staff receive appropriate training and development opportunities, focusing on trauma-informed care, child protection, and cultural competency.
* Monitoring & Reporting: Regularly review and report on the service's performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and identifying areas for improvement.
* Resource Management: Effectively manage the service's budget and resources, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high-quality care.

Key Requirements:
Qualifications: The centre manager must have minimum QQI level 7 qualification in social care and hold or be enrolled in a programme leading to a management qualification suitable for a health or social care setting and 4 years' full time work experience in a social care setting post qualification.
* Alternatively, the manager may hold a QQI level 8 qualification in social care with 4 years' post qualification work experience in a social care setting.
* A professional qualification is Social Work is also considered as suitable, for a centre manager with the requisite 4 years post qualification practice experience and hold or be enrolled in a programme leading to a management qualification suitable for a health or social care setting.
* Centre managers who do not hold a social care qualification but have within the 3 years prior to the issuing of this notice (June 2023) been a manager of a registered centre for a period of 2 of the preceding 3 years, are required to hold minimum of a level 7 in a related field and hold or be enrolled in a management qualification suitable for a health care or social care setting. The registered provider must make arrangements with the manager to obtain a minimal level 7 in social care.
* A recognised qualification in social care will include equivalent social care qualifications from other jurisdictions A relevant qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (minimum Level [insert level], Degree/Diploma).
Experience: A minimum of [insert years] 4 years' full time work experience in a social care setting post qualification
Knowledge: A strong understanding of the challenges faced by separated children seeking international protection, including trauma, legal processes, and cultural integration.
Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, staff, and external agencies.
Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural and emotional needs of children from diverse backgrounds.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and ensure the smooth running of the service.
