Job Summary
A Buyer is required to join the procurement team of a leading Irish Steel Manufacturer based in Co. Longford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Buyer with industrial experience to develop their skills and progress their career with a prominent Irish company.
Key Responsibilities
* Negotiate agreements and prices with suppliers.
* Focus on major spends within the company.
* Demonstrate cost savings on major spends.
* BUILD AND MAINTAIN GOOD RELATIONSHIPS WITH NEW AND EXISTING SUPPLIERS;
* Manage the company's internal purchasing system, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
* Provide purchasing and supplier-related reports, including quarterly spend reports and monthly KPI reports.
* Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.
* Train and supervise other members of the purchasing department.
* Conduct regular supplier assessments of existing suppliers.
Requirements
* A 3rd level qualification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management.
* IT skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SAP.
* Excellent communication and report writing skills.
* Experience in Construction and industrial environments is desired.
* Self-discipline, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
* The ability to liaise confidently with colleagues at all levels.
* A positive and flexible attitude towards change.
* The ability to make quick decisions.
