We are urgently seeking CNM 3- Infection Prevention & Control for a hospital in Westmeath Ireland.
Responsibilities
1. Offer advice on infection prevention and control matters to every hospital department aid in the selection, application, and assessment of infection prevention and control strategies.
2. To detect and address infection prevention and control issues, communicate with all hospital departments in an efficient and unambiguous manner.
3. Improve patient care by creating services centred on infection control and prevention to maximise care continuity and quality.
4. Create and carry out policies and procedures for infection prevention and control in compliance with national and international standards, directives, and laws.
5. HIQA and HPSC guidelines are among the national and worldwide infection prevention and control requirements that must be followed. Lead infection control audits and support hospital accreditation procedures to uphold the highest safety standards.
6. Make routine environmental tours to evaluate the facility's overall cleanliness and adherence to infection control regulations.
7. Develop and carry out quality improvement and infection prevention programs in conjunction with hospital administration.
8. Serve as a liaison between the healthcare facility and external agencies, such as public health departments and regulatory bodies, regarding infection prevention and control matters.
9. Regarding hospital renovations and any new developments, offer knowledgeable guidance on infection prevention and control.
* Collaborate with all managers to ensure a clean, safe, and high-quality care environment and to promote a safe working environment for all staff in relation to infection prevention
Requirements
10. A registered nurse (RN) who holds a valid Irish licence.
11. Accredited education or training in infection control and prevention (or pursuing completion).
12. At least three to five years of clinical expertise in infection prevention and control, along with knowledge in creating policies, carrying out audits, and spearheading staff education programs.
13. Extensive understanding of microbiology, epidemiology, and infectious illnesses.
14. Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to inform and involve medical personnel.
15. Meticulous and with a high aptitude for analysis and problem-solving.
16. The capacity to operate both alone and productively in a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of electronic medical record systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
