Overview of role:
Be responsible for machine control system software design, development, and commissioning. This is a great opportunity to be directly involved in the design of high-tech engineering applications.
Duties:
* Design and integrate control system software for automated machines including PLCs, Robotics, Motion, HMI, SCADA, Vision.
* Develop, test, commission, and support machine control software.
* Design system architectures, develop process flows, and software design specifications.
* Design equipment to CE, electrical, machinery safety, and clients' standards.
* Interpret and develop design and validation documentation required for regulated industries.
* Specification of control system components.
* Collaborate closely within a multi-disciplinary project team.
* Collaborate and support customers throughout an entire project life cycle.
* Support the improvement and creation of new control system standards and system standardization with the latest technologies.
Experience:
Proven experience with automated machine design, specification, and development is essential. Strong PLC and HMI/SCADA experience is essential, preferably with Allen Bradley or Siemens platforms. Experience in software architectures and design including GAMP, ISA88, ISA95, and 21CFR Part 11 compliance is required. Experience in equipment testing and debugging is necessary. Ability to create and review technical documentation for regulated industries is essential. Familiarity with robotics, motion control, machine vision, and pneumatics is essential.
Qualifications:
Level 8 qualification in a relevant engineering or closely related discipline and 5 years of equivalent experience.
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, a proactive and energetic approach, strong organizational skills, a quality-minded outlook, and a problem-solving attitude are required. The candidate needs to work well in a multifunctional team. An Irish/EU driving license and the ability to travel are also required.
