We are seeking to recruit an experienced Bid Manager to join our Construction team.
The successful Bid Manager will bring a wealth of skills and experience suitable for this role, coupled with drive and enthusiasm to undertake the responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Bid Director, the role of Bid Manager is strategic while providing direction to the bidding team.
Working on a variety of tenders at one time, the Bid Manager will manage the team to encourage the best bid response in all areas.
You will lead from the front and by example, taking responsibility for client and client team engagement.
As Bid Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Managing a programme of projects in the Pre-Construction phase
* Agreeing the Bid Win Strategy with the Pre-Construction Director and Bid Director
* Developing a Bid Programme
* Organising, chairing, and attending tender progress meetings, both internal and external
* Developing a thorough understanding of potential risks and opportunities and ensuring the team addresses them respectively
* Ensuring contract documents are thoroughly reviewed and collaborating with Commercial and Estimating teams to understand and agree tender position
* Ensuring AFL, URD, FRP or other Tenant/Employer documents are adequately reflected/captured in the design
* Researching and gaining a wider understanding of a scheme
* Maintaining excellent working relationships with the Client Key Account Management
* Assisting with Business Development activities as required
* Traveling as appropriate throughout the UK
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with:
* A degree or equivalent construction or design qualification
* A background in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Project Management
Experience
We are seeking candidates with:
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Prior knowledge of the Defence sector
* Possessing existing Security Clearance that could be transferable would be preferred
* Working with different forms of building contract, including JCT, NEC, and bespoke
* Understanding of two-stage, single-stage, and negotiated tendering
