Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping for all fund client structures.
* Ensure timely delivery of financial statements, specialized investor reports, and other complex reports as per client or regulatory requirements.
* Optimize the use of technology platforms to improve process efficiency, quality, and proposition extension. Collaborate with senior management to implement cutting-edge fund technology platforms.
* Proactively manage and resolve queries raised by colleagues, clients, their advisors, and auditors.
* Maintain and update bookkeeping and accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure service excellence and efficiency.
* Effectively manage third-party relationships involved in the accounting and reporting process to ensure consistency and quality.
* Contribute to business development and client relationship management, including demonstrating system capabilities (some travel required).
* Provide resourcing, training, and motivational leadership to the accounting team, and share knowledge across the wider business.
* Ensure compliance with relevant policies, accounting standards, and regulations impacting the delivered services.
* Collaborate with the wider business to support revenue growth, governance, planning, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
* 10 years of relevant industry experience, with demonstrable experience working in funds environments.
* Enhanced technical expertise in the accounting of private capital strategies, such as private equity and venture capital.
* Prior principal person experience in the funds sector is ideal but not essential.
* Business development experience, including pitching to prospective clients.
* Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
* Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements.
* Ability to work under deadlines, collaborate, and be flexible.
* Proven team player with strong interpersonal skills.
