PM Group is a leading International engineering, architecture, project and construction management firm. With a network of offices in Europe, Asia and the US and a multi-disciplined team of over 3,700 people, we deliver complex, capital projects in the life sciences, food and beverages, mission critical/ICT, advanced manufacturing, energy and environmental sectors.
Due to our on-going success securing large-scale projects for 2023, we have a requirement for a Principal Civil Design Engineer to join our Civil/Structural Department in Cork. To be successful and to enjoy the challenge of this position, the role will suit an experienced Civil Engineer with design experience who has previously led large scale projects in the Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and Mission Critical sectors (TIC > €100MM) from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
You will be located in the Cork office on a Hybrid working basis. The role involves the following:
1. Lead the detailed civil engineering design of pavements, underground drainage and utilities, and earthworks for site development works on large industrial projects.
2. Proactively coordinate with project managers, design disciplines, construction management team, contractors, and Clients.
3. Manage the timely delivery of the civil engineering design to an excellent standard.
4. Carry out periodic inspections of the works on site for quality and BCAR purposes.
5. Contribute to the continuous development of the civil engineering department.

You will have:
1. Degree in Civil Engineering. Masters would be an advantage.
2. Chartered with Engineers Ireland or similar body.
3. Minimum 10 years’ experience with at least 5 years’ experience in the detailed design of large industrial projects in the pharmaceutical, data centre or oil & gas sectors. This includes the design of process drainage and the coordination of complex underground utilities.
4. Proficient with the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage and AutoTRACK. Additional experience in the use of Revit would be an advantage.
5. Effective communicator with excellent oral and report writing skills.
6. Ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
7. Confident in creating and delivering engineering presentations to Clients.
8. Thorough understanding of civil engineering design standards.
9. Experienced in the inspection of civil engineering works on site and the completion of BCAR reports.
