Our client, a leading supplier for consumer goods, healthcare and industrial companies around the world, is seeking to recruit a Supply Senior Toolmaker to support their expanding operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the maintenance of injection molds in the company and compiling standard specifications /procedures for each mold and monitoring all existing molds to standard specifications
2. Responsible for, jigs & fixture manufacture, maintenance on the injection molding and ancillary equipment in conjunction with the machine supplier
3. Works with the Process Engineers in troubleshooting mold problems
4. Attends, schedules and facilitates internal meetings to help establish priorities and assign tasks
5. Solves, in conjunction with the Quality department, customer related problems/issues as needed
6. In conjunction with approved toolmakers, research new processes and/or systems for maintenance/manufacture of molds and implement new processes and systems as developed under the direction of the Toolroom manager
7. Instructs others, formally or informally, regarding manufacturing related skills or knowledge and assist in the training of employees on new processes or systems introduced to the company
8. Coordinate the development of documentation in the toolmaking areas in line with ISO9001/ ISO 13485 requirements and review of the systems with the Process Engineer/Group Leaders and the Quality department on a regular basis to ensure conformance to same
9. Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures, and corporate policies
10. Perform additional duties at the request of the Toolroom Manager
Requirements:
11. Toolmaking qualification plus time served with a toolmaker producing injection molds
12. Previous experience in an injection mold making / mold maintenance environment
13. Knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, sparking and fitting
14. Ability to weld
15. Good knowledge in mold maintenance and experience of supporting a high-volume manufacturing environment
16. Previous experience in the manufacture and/or repair/maintenance of the following mold types would be a distinct advantage:
17. Multi cavity molds
18. Hot Runner molds
19. Valve gated molds
20. Good understanding of the injection molding process
21. Previous experience working on technically challenging applications would be an advantage (i.e.) medical, tight tolerance work
22. Ability to interact with suppliers, customers and external toolmakers
23. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics would be an advantage
24. 3 years minimum experience after graduating, in a busy manufacturing environment
