Meta is looking for an analytical thinker with experience in integrity compliance, content policy, law or human rights, for our Content Policy team. The team's mission is to create and communicate rules for how our products may be used by people on Meta's family of applications. This person will be responsible for the coordination and initial drafting of regulatory obligation responses by content policy. Candidates will provide policy counsel and support across content policy teams, draft responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), contribute to systemic risk assessments, provide support for Transparency Reports and audits and address regulatory takedown challenges. You will primarily be responsible for coordinating and drafting responses to regulatory obligations to ensure content compliance. You will also manage escalations -- including by coordinating cross-functional responses to content decisions that take into consideration local regulatory compliance and international human rights obligations, product, operational considerations, and weigh up risk in order to provide effective policy advice to leadership and make decisions under pressure.
Content Policy Manager, Regulatory Compliance Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate efforts to respond to regulatory obligations across the Content Policy organisation
2. Contribute to the Systemic Risk Assessments as Subject Matter Experts
3. Draft responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) on our content policies and compliance strategy
4. Provide support for regulatory Transparency Reports
5. Manage regulatory escalations relating to freedom of expression.
6. Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams, such as Integrity Governance Risk and Compliance, Integrity Compliance Office, Legal, Public Policy, Human Rights Policy, Content Policy, Communications, Trust & Safety.
7. Act as an escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issues, including on-call rotations in timezone, with potential irregular hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. 5+ years of experience working in tech policy, law, integrity compliance, human rights, government, or risk management with an emphasis on platforms and technology
2. Experience with Internet/social media content issues
3. Understanding of and experience in Meta policies and standards (eg: Facebook's Community Standards)
4. Demonstrates analytical-thinking and problem-solving skills and project management experience
5. Experience working cross-functionally and consensus-building
6. Understanding of Meta's products and principles
7. Proven written and oral skills
