Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Deskside Engineer with experience supporting IT operations in a manufacturing environment. This role will provide onsite technical support for end-users, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of IT systems critical to manufacturing processes.The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Windows desktop and server administration, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and working in a fast-paced, high-demand production setting. Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and a customer-focused approach are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide onsite deskside support in a manufacturing environment, ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows 10/11 desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and industrial IT devices.Support and maintain IT systems in manufacturing areas, including workstations, production PCs, label printers, and specialized equipment.Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Windows desktop environments.Manage and support Active Directory (AD), including user/group management, GPOs, and authentication troubleshooting.Use administration tools such as SCCM, Intune, PowerShell, Event Viewer, and Performance Monitor for system maintenance and automation.Resolve networking issues related to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wired/wireless connectivity within the production floor.Provide technical support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.Manage and implement IT security policies within the manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with security standards.Support remote access solutions, including RDP, Citrix, or VMware Horizon, for remote users and manufacturing engineers.Assist in IT asset management, ensuring proper tracking and lifecycle management of manufacturing-related IT hardware and software.Document incidents, solutions, and knowledge base articles for continuous improvement.Follow ITIL-based service management processes, ensuring proper ticket handling, escalation, and SLA compliance.Required Qualifications & Skills3+ years of experience in deskside/IT support, with a focus on manufacturing or industrial environments.Experience supporting IT operations in a factory, production plant, or regulated manufacturing setting.Driving license and own transport is essential.Strong expertise in Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 administration.Proficiency in administration tools (SCCM, Intune, PowerShell, AD, Group Policy, Event Viewer).Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining IT hardware (desktops, laptops, industrial PCs, label printers, barcode scanners, networked production equipment).Knowledge of IT security best practices, including endpoint protection and access controls in a manufacturing environment.Experience with IT support in high-availability settings, where downtime affects production.Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.Experience working in an ITIL-based service environment is a plus.Work Environment & Additional InformationOnsite role with direct support for manufacturing and production teams.On-call support required on a rotated basis for critical incidents or scheduled maintenance.Occasional travel between office and manufacturing sites may be required.
