As Civil Resident Engineer – Water, you will provide supervision and management on a programme of work to deliver new and upgrade water network improvements in the North East of Ireland; in Meath, Westmeath, Longford and Louth.
Due to ongoing contract awards, this Global Engineering Consultancy firm has a requirement for a Resident Engineer to work on water projects in the region. You should be able to demonstrate previous experience in either the design or construction of watermain upgrades and rehabilitation techniques, leakage repair, etc.
As Resident Engineer – Water, you will be responsible for the following:
* Working alongside Regional Contractors to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with the Contract and legislation.
* Liaising with Local Authorities in delivering projects.
* Carrying out HSQE audits and managing HSQE issues.
* Service Request Approval.
* Updating trackers.
* Reviewing and approval of as-laid drawings.
* Working with IW Design Engineers to provide clarity to deliver the project.
* Dealing with complaints.
* Providing feedback to Regional Leads and IW.
* Attending and managing meetings with Regional Contractors and IW.
* Keeping records.
* Creating a list of snags and signing off when complete.
* Visiting site before works commence to envisage any problems that could potentially arise and providing feedback to IW Design Engineers.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
* At least 5 years of satisfactory postgraduate experience in onsite supervision and site engineering of civil engineering works, including water projects.
* A Degree in a related discipline such as Civil Engineering.
* Capability of writing clear and concise reports and keeping work records.
* Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
* A current and valid SafePass card is essential; Confined Spaces training would be desirable.
You will also have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to act within a team at all times. With the nature of the role, there may be travel involved, so you should be flexible in terms of travel.
