Title: CAD Technician
Location: Meath
Our Client is seeking an experienced CAD Technician.
You will report into the Design Team of this growing business and take responsibility for dealing with CAD drawings on behalf of the clients. The company deals with high-end contemporary bespoke works and high-quality commercial fit-out works. Your tasks will include:
1. Provide working drawings and additional information to facilitate the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke joinery.
2. Assist with attending design meetings on site with clients and management; once a job is won, the MD will hand the project to you for the production of working drawings.
3. Put together detailed drawings using AutoCAD 2D and Cabinet Vision.
4. Liaise with both clients and architects, taking notes and reporting back.
5. Liaise with shop floor production to ensure manufacture conforms with agreed drawings.
6. Draw up bespoke items such as reception desks, featured wall panels, ceilings, elements, kitchen work, and cabinets.
7. Review quotes and minimize costs in accordance with working drawings.
8. Occasionally attend site to undertake design meetings.
9. Provide details to other trade contractors.
10. Conduct site surveys for drawing purposes.
11. Manage RFI (Request for Information) schedules.
12. Send samples of work and drawings out to clients for approval.
13. Read and understand architectural drawings and produce drawings from the architect's design.
14. Compile production checklists and produce purchase orders once an item is drawn, order the material needed for that order, and place orders on accounts software.
15. Explain all drawings to whomever manufactures them, whether in-house or subcontracted.
To apply you will have:
1. CAD Technician experience.
2. Joinery drawings experience.
3. AutoCAD 2D and Cabinet Vision experience essential.
4. Solidworks experience is a benefit.
5. Ideally, experience of being able to translate drawings for manufacturing purposes.
6. Able to prioritize a busy workload.
