About the role As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will play a pivotal role in designing world class, online masters and postgraduate programmes for healthcare professionals across the world.
You will be a key member of our product development team, collaboratively evaluating new ideas, technology, tools and apps to improve the overall learning experience.# This role is ideal for a proactive, quality-focused instructional designer with a keen interest in healthcare, and a desire to create innovative and effective online learning experiences.
The role will be on a full-time, permanent basis.
Job description: What you will be doing as a Senior Instructional Designer: Work closely with university partners and leading international experts to collaboratively design new masters-level programme curricula, that maximise the opportunities and minimise the challenges of delivering programmes online.
Design and own the Instructional Strategy for new programmes, within the boundaries of the broader strategy, taking the specific programme learning needs and complexity of content into account, to ensure the learning experience is engaging and the learner has opportunities to apply learning.
Oversee the implementation of the Instructional Strategy for your Programme across all team members to ensure consistent quality and level of learning.
Educate and onboard subject matter experts or faculty that have little or no prior experience in developing online programmes so that they can contribute effectively throughout the content development process.
Mentor junior instructional designers and onboard freelance instructional designers as required, ensuring they are familiar with iheed processes, standards, style guides and tools, and ensure consistent quality in their work.
Liaise with programme project managers on scheduling, resourcing and balancing of the instructional design workload across a programme team.
Analyse the effectiveness and flow of the learning materials, activities and assessment based on feedback from tutors and students and recommend improvements as appropriate.
Collaborate with peers on the continuous improvement of the content development processes and tools, e.g., Style Guide, Standards, Tools, Multi-media Interactions, Simulations etc., to support new or different complex medical concepts, support higher levels of learning and maximise reuse.
Explore and integrate new educational technologies, including AR, VR and AI.
Required profile: Aspects we will be looking for: Undergraduate qualification in instructional design, education or a related field.
Significant experience of Instructional design, including leading Instruction design programmes.
Experience developing masters-level programmes is a significant advantage.
Experience using content management systems or tools.
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
Experience working in JIRA is a plus.
Developing educational content in a medical or science field would be an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in an academic or educational environment with frequent collaboration across departments.
Ability to quickly learn new software, frameworks and tools.
Strong interest in AI and its potential application in education.
