Hello, we’re Piper, a 30-year-old Irish Company. We provide metering, sampling and automated data collection systems for the Dairy industry. We export products to the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the US, as well as servicing the Irish market.
In order to pursue growth opportunities for the business, we have created a position for a Product Engineer.
We are looking for a hands-on engineer with strong electro-mechanical systems experience, excellent project management capability, and a proven track record of problem solving & delivery. This role will be customer-facing and will require significant travel to the US and occasionally to other locations.
Title: Product Engineer
Location: Bray, Ireland (Hybrid work)
Purpose of the role:
The primary purpose of this Product Engineering position is to become the focal point and customer-facing technical product expert for our farm-based and tanker-based products. This role is responsible for managing the full life cycle of the product including product commissioning installation, customer training, data integration, customer support, product performance, and ongoing customer relationship management. This role may require some travel to the US to manage project implementation and to develop strong customer relationships.
Specific accountabilities:
* Be the go-to technical product expert for Piper products.
* Project manage each new customer from pre-installation to active systems running in the field.
* Develop & deliver customer training and support material to enable the ready adoption of this new technology by customers.
* Manage the data integration of Piper’s system with the Customer’s data system.
* Develop and implement a customer support infrastructure that provides customers easy access to issue resolution, problem solving & call support.
* Responsible for system performance and improvement including monitoring of system data to ensure operational effectiveness and generation of insights, ideas, and opportunities.
* Develop strong customer relationships through clarity of communication, strong project management, and timely delivery of commitments.
* Develop a strong & hands-on understanding of Piper’s technology and products in all markets as foundational learning of Piper’s global products.
Requirements:
* Mechanical or electronic engineering degree, or an equivalent discipline.
* Engineering experience dealing with electro-mechanical systems.
* Excellent project management capability with a proven track record of delivery and execution.
* Strong data analytics capability with an ability to generate insights and turn them into action.
* An aptitude in problem solving.
* Excellent all-round communication and collaboration capabilities.
* Positive, action-oriented, and service-oriented.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Must have a full driving licence and an ability to travel frequently to the US.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €35,615.84 - €52,500.00 per year
