Job Title: Superintendent
Location: Vancouver, Canada
The Building Division of a leading Main Contractor seeks an experienced Superintendent to join their team. As a key member of the Construction Manager's team, the successful candidate will be responsible for field operations from project planning to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement construction strategies, project execution planning, scheduling, and estimating
* Play an integral role in the estimating cycle, with ownership of accountability for the estimate and plan creation
* Communicate effectively with subcontractors and staff on schedules, construction methods, company policies, permits, safety/loss prevention, quality control, and performance standards
* Manage scope strategies for subcontracts and self-performed work, and assign subject matter experts and resources accordingly
* Review and approve project drawings with subcontractors and other superintendents
* Maintain project site and company asset security, ensuring a safe and respectful working environment
* Implement and coordinate the project safety plan
* Attend pre-tender meetings
Requirements:
* Diploma or degree in a relevant field from a college or technical school
* 10+ years of experience in a field management role
* Knowledge of cost/benefit analysis and understanding of change impact on project cost and scheduling
* Experience with healthcare facility projects is an asset
* Comprehensive knowledge of major construction disciplines, including cost control, scheduling, supply chain, subcontractor selection, labour negotiation, asset management, and safety regulations
* Advanced knowledge of construction engineering and design
* Ability to delegate tasks and leverage team expertise
* Commitment to quality and safety, with ability to evaluate project processes and make necessary changes
* Proficient in scheduling and project management software and MS Office
Benefits:
* Salary $140,000 to $160,000 CAD ($95k to €110k)
* Relocation package $15,000 to $25,000 CAD
