We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Associate in Safety and Occupational Hygiene to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in identifying and mitigating workplace health and safety risks. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, relevant qualifications/certifications, and practical experience.
Excellent communication skills are essential for effective interaction with employees and management. Our aim is to enhance workplace safety and health standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of safety.
Responsibilities
1. Provide specialist advice to management and workforce by interpreting health, safety & legislation, corporate standards, policies and industry guidance.
2. Assessing and controlling health hazards, including biological, chemical, ergonomic, physical, and psychosocial hazards.
3. Conduct Qualitative and Quantitative Exposure Assessment surveys - write reports and communicate fiindings.
4. eliminate or significantly reduce risk by making organisational changes and selecting and designing relevant facilities
5. Understand and implement health and safety requirements for new products and projects through knowledge of applicable legislation and industry practices.
6. Support a mature safety culture with integrated safety practices and open safety conversations.
7. Deliver high quality Health and Safety training, communications and technical support.
8. Ensure company compliance and continuous improvement in Health and Safety and standards, systems and programmes.
9. Investigate and provide legislative guidance during incident response.
10. Liaising with and report to Environmental Health & Safety regulatory agencies and corporate auditing groups.
11. Collaborate with site manufacturing and technical support personnel to manage Environmental Health & Safety aspects of current processes.
12. Review process and equipment changes to identify potential Health & Safety impacts.
Qualifications:
13. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.
14. Professional certification or working toward certification in Occupational Hygiene (e.g., CertOH, CIH).
15. At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
16. Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
17. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
19. Experience in conducting risk assessments in pharmaceutical/chemical industrial settings.
20. Proficiency with occupational hygiene monitoring equipment and software.
21. Knowledge of ergonomics and human factors.
22. Ability to deliver engaging training sessions.
