DPD Ireland leads the field in next day parcel delivery throughout Ireland, with 35 regionally based collection and delivery depots and a state of the art central sorting hub in Athlone, Co. Westmeath.
We are currently recruiting a Health and Safety Training Coordinator to support the delivery of high quality training and development activities to the Central Operations Team and to the wider business when required. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, this is a full time role based in our Head Office in Athlone.
Responsibilities
* Schedule and co-ordinate all training requirements of the Health and Safety Department engaging with external providers where required
* Develop and deliver structured induction and refresher health and safety training to all employees in the business
* Proactively promote a culture of continuous professional development with colleagues
* Provide a positive learning experience
* Design and deliver training programs for mechanical aids such as forklifts and powered pallet trucks
* Record all planned and delivered training and development activities
* Ensure training and development activity is fully compliant with relevant regulatory bodies
* Support the Central Operations team in achieving business KPIs and performance targets
* Provide support to colleagues while completing online course requirements
* Liaise with internal stakeholders for the roll out of training programmes
* Provide required support during internal and external inspections
* Manage and prioritise multiple different projects, tasks and requests
* Use initiative and seek direction when appropriate
Requirements
The successful candidate needs:
* Fluent English
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* High level of proficiency in the application of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Strong communication and influencing skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence
* Flexibility with regard to working hours especially evenings and nights
* Positive, energetic and focused
* Experience in working autonomously and within teams in a fast-paced environment
* Commitment to personal and professional development
* A strong work ethic and a professional attitude
* FETAC level 5 Train the Trainer / RTITB Instructor certificate desirable but not essential as training will be provided
