We own improvements to understand query intent and relevance of organic search results for Books (Print + Kindle + Audible) across all surfaces and enhancements to the search page CX on Amazon surfaces World Wide; improving relevance of results via backend and CX launches.
We are looking for an inventive, technically skilled and eager to learn Software Development Engineer to join our diverse and multidisciplinary team in an impactful environment.
Key job responsibilitiesWork in an agile environment to deliver high quality softwareDesign and execute innovative solutions to improve the searching experience, through a deep knowledge on Search environment and technologies across all the steps of the Search customer journey (Query Understanding, Matching, Relevance, Rendering, Format Faceout Optimization and Navigation)Implement professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including agile development, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsManage small and medium-sized technical projects with minimal supervisionBASIC QUALIFICATIONSExperience (non-internship) in professional software developmentExperience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsExperience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented designPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentExperience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsExcellence in technical communication with scientists and engineers.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
