Job Summary:
Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a 1st year Electrical Apprentice to join our team in Thermo King Galway. We are seeking candidates who are innovative, diligent, ambitious, have the ability to learn on the job, and possess very good communication skills. The apprentice will work alongside multi-skilled Maintenance and Engineering teams, playing a major role in the implementation of our TPM & PM processes to ensure effective uptime and planned preventative maintenance activities. You will be supported and mentored throughout your apprenticeship, acquiring responsibility for the execution of electrical preventative maintenance tasks and repairs coupled with continuous improvement initiatives, thereby ensuring minimal interruptions to plant operation or activities. You will adhere to high safety standards at all times while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
* Learning and assisting in the installation, commissioning, testing, monitoring, fault finding, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment.
* Assisting the team in undertaking specific problem solving leading to the rectification of system faults, utilizing historical data and testing equipment to diagnose and formulate solutions to technical issues.
* Complete all relevant documentation for all work activities to ensure effective equipment histories and maintenance records are kept.
* Assist and carry out non-routine and routine maintenance as per the preventative maintenance schedule.
* Applicants must be eligible to undertake the SOLAS Standard Based Apprenticeship Programme (go to www.solas.ie for further information on placement program and rates of pay).
* Successfully completed Leaving Certificate with a minimum of an O5 grade in pass maths.
* Punctual and well-organized with good communication skills.
* Complete onsite Technical/Competency Assessment.
* Flexible and willing to learn new skills as directed by your Manager.
* Have a genuine interest in becoming a qualified Electrician.
* Ability to collaborate as a team and work independently.
