Catalyx is seeking a Automation Engineer to join our team and work on our customer site in Waterford.

The Role:

As part of this commitment, we are continuously developing our on-site teams to support the advancement of customer operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Automation System Design and Implementation: Design and develop automation solutions to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
2. Securely integrate new and existing automation systems within IT/OT infrastructure.
3. System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor the performance of automation and OT systems to ensure optimal operation.
4. Collaborate with Maintenance Department for the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
5. Project Management: Lead and manage automation projects through design, execution, and qualification project phases.
6. Work closely with other functions to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions across the site.
7. Safety Compliance: Ensure all automation-OT systems comply with safety regulations and standards via design assurance during project design and implementation and by conducting regular audits and risk assessments during operation.
8. Training and Support: Provide subject matter expertise and domain knowledge for site automation systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS) and connectivity (OPC-UA, MQTT).
Required Skills, Experience And Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering: Preferably in Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
2. Expertise in one or more of SCADA, PLC, DCS systems.
3. A considerable track record of achievement in designing and implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment.
4. Demonstrated experience of design/execution of automation project deliverables.
5. Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
6. Familiarity with cybersecurity practices in OT environments.
