The role is central to the day-to-day operations of the finance office, with responsibilities including payroll, financial reporting, audits, asset and liability reconciliation, and assisting the Financial Controller with various tasks.
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience in an accounts position within the hotel industry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software packages; familiarity with Sage 50, Procure Wizard, Opera, and Micros is an advantage.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Qualified or part-qualified accountant.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts with accuracy and timeliness.
Reconcile the balance sheet and ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation.
Ensure financial reports are accurate and submitted on time.
Process payroll efficiently and ensure employees are paid correctly.
Support accounting staff in day-to-day operations and resolve queries promptly.
Oversee finance duties during staff absences to ensure continuity.
Develop skills and competencies within the accounting team.
Assist the Financial Controller in tax compliance and timely payments.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and control manuals.
Maintain strong accounting controls to safeguard assets, improve operations, and manage risks.
Oversee cash management, including floats, cash transit procedures, and spot checks.
Manage debtor accounts, monitor credit policy implementation, and ensure timely vendor payments.
