CSR is a well-established, award-winning national practice, offering full Landscape Architectural, Environmental and Town Planning, and Arboricultural services. We also offer services in the UK through our sister offices in London and Manchester. The practice has a broad and expanding portfolio of parks and public open space design, masterplanning and public realm work, commercial and residential projects, landscape and countryside resource planning and landscape planning/impact assessment projects. We are currently looking to appoint experienced Senior or Project Landscape Architect to join our friendly team in Cork.
You must be a team player with good technical and design skills who wishes to be involved in the development of innovative, cost-effective and buildable solutions in an environment that is collaborative, stimulating and challenging. The roles are for self-motivated individuals with good design detailing, site and construction experience.
Senior Landscape Architect
This role offers significant potential for professional development and advancement, leading on a wide variety of landscape projects for a range of private and public sector client teams.
You will have a Degree or equivalent in Landscape Architecture, MILI or equivalent, full driving license, excellent AutoCAD skills, circa 10 years experience with a strong emphasis on delivering projects from detailed design through to site.
You will demonstrate the technical expertise to carry out the following:
1. Working as a Project Manager, project management responsibilities, including contractual, financial and programme management through design, detailing and construction.
2. Establish strong working relationships with other members of the landscape team and internal teams across the business.
3. Develop and manage the work of others.
4. Clear communication, including the ability to write concise technical reports and to contribute to conference calls, meetings and workshops.
5. Be client facing and respond to client requirements.
6. Produce or oversee the production of drawings and other technical documentation using appropriate software, with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development: strategies, conceptual design, detailed design and production information through to supervising implementation of works on site.
7. Compile tender submissions and secure new work.
8. Have the technical ability, knowledge and competence to guide and develop junior staff.
9. Work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team.
Experienced Project Landscape Architect
This role is one of a number of such positions at CSR responsible for taking forward the design, delivery and management of landscape projects. You will have a Degree or equivalent in Landscape Architecture, MILI or equivalent, full driving licence, excellent AutoCAD skills, circa 5 years experience with a strong emphasis on delivering projects through detailed design to site.
You will demonstrate the technical expertise to carry out the following:
1. Landscape design projects – concept drawings to detailed hard and soft design.
2. Multi-disciplinary studies including participating in planning led projects.
3. Technical (IT) and graphic project work.
4. Landscape character studies.
You will represent CSR at meetings, conferences etc. and assist in marketing and PR programmes. You will be a good Project Manager, self-directed and motivated with excellent design and creative skills. You will be a good communicator and team worker with a proven record in solving problems and designing creative solutions at masterplan and detailed level.
Desirable Skills and Experience for both positions
1. Horticultural qualifications or experience.
2. Site work, working with contractors and site monitoring.
