The Role will involve the assessment of Private & Commercial Motor Vehicles for collision damage, roadworthiness, and mechanical defects.

As a Motor Assessor/Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing reports based on inspections, negotiating repair costs and total loss settlements with clients and vehicle owners, and dealing with daily inquiries from these stakeholders.

You will work closely with clients and colleagues to provide professional service and resolve issues in a timely manner.

We are seeking an experienced individual with a strong background in motor vehicle repair and assessment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

* Audit and assess private and commercial motor vehicles for collision damage, roadworthiness, and mechanical defects
">
* Prepare reports based on inspections, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
">
* Negotiate and agree repair costs and negotiate total loss settlements with clients and vehicle owners
">
* Deal with clients and vehicle owners on a daily basis, providing professional service and resolving issues
">
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective communication and issue resolution
">
* Maintain accurate records and reports, as required
">

Requirements:
">
">
* Advanced/Higher Certificate in Motor Vehicle Technician
">
* Member of IAEA (Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors) or working towards membership
">
* Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
">
* Knowledge of motor vehicle repair in private and commercial body repair
">
* Ability to negotiate and agree repair costs and negotiate total loss settlements
">
* Experience in vehicle construction & repair methodology
">
* Understanding of insurance principles
">
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Repair Estimating Systems (Audatex)
">
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
">
* Organised, motivated, honest, reliable, and self-disciplined

* Ability to multi-task and work on own initiative in a busy environment

* Professional demeanor when interacting with clients, colleagues, and vehicle owners
