Ayrton Group are seeking a HSEQ Advisor to join our client, a plant hire group, on a utilities project in the West Cork region.
The HSEQ Advisor will advise on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety in accordance with client policies and relevant statutory provisions.
This is a 12 month contract role, with the potential for extension. The position comes with a company vehicle and will be based out of the client office in Bantry, along with site visits across the West Cork region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
* Conduct regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
* Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
* Assist in the management of subcontractors.
* Assist in the initiation and organization of health and safety training.
* Maintain incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes, and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
* Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
* Collaborate with management to foster a strong safety culture within the organization.
* Provide strategic advice and support on health and safety policy implementation.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum of a Level 6 qualification in Environmental Health & Safety. Similar qualifications will be considered.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in on-site safety roles.
* Previous experience working on utilities projects is preferred.
* Thorough knowledge of current safety legislation & regulations for Ireland.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and report writing.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
* Full Irish Driving Licence.
