Rockwell are currently recruiting an IT Desktop Support to join our IT Department in our Head Office in Co. Cork, on a permanent & full-time basis.
Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful candidate will be a detail-oriented professional responsible for providing IT support to internal users. This role will serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues while assisting in system installations, cloud-based setups, and IT asset management.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide timely and effective IT support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and cloud related issues.
* Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of workstations, laptops, and mobile devices (Windows and Android).
* Support users with Autodesk products, including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
* Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
* Perform routine system maintenance, updates, patches, and security configurations.
* Provide support for Azure-based environments, including setup, management, and troubleshooting.
* Maintain and manage IT assets, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and lifecycle management.
* Clearly communicate technical solutions to non-technical users.
* Provide training and guidance on IT best practices and security protocols.
* Work closely with IT team members to resolve complex issues and improve overall system performance.
* Coordinate with external vendors and service providers when necessary.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
* The successful IT candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Familiarity with Autodesk products and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) would be an advantage.
* Experience with Azure setup, administration, and troubleshooting.
* Solid understanding of IT asset management and inventory tracking.
* Proficiency in Windows 10 & 11, Office 365, Active Directory, and remote support tools.
* Knowledge of cloud-based systems, mobile device management, and basic networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, wired networking, routers, switches).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
